This is an easy lace stitch poncho / evening cape. You can knit it in one piece or two. I’ve given instructions for both.

I’ve also written out the basic pattern plus two more versions. I think of the basic one for evening and the other two for either evening or for day/casual wear. For an especially fun evening wear version I’ve also included a wider neckline for that flirty “off the shoulder look”! See the white version in the photograph.

Knit it with an interesting wool and the results will be fabulous. Knit it in a plainer yarn and wear every day. The lace stitch is stretchy and easily blocked so you can adjust the size to suit.
