When foraging in yarn shops, I love to pick up a skein or two of fabulous luxury yarns. Hand painted mohair, scintillating eyelash yarns and chunky silk tweeds actually make my mouth water. Since a taste of these luscious yarns may sometimes be better than a steady diet, I have devised a pattern for plain stockinette mittens that shows off the glorious colours and textures of the yarns.

Try mixing your own yarns too; for example pair a fine sock yarn with an expensive eyelash to add body. For added warmth, these mittens are very tightly knit, but please be a little wary of the suggested needle size. If your mitten seems inhumanly tight after a few rounds, please try a larger needle.
